The Sonoran Desert is dominated by the saguaro cactus. It is the symbol of the American West and they are uniquely beautiful. One of the greatest concentrations of these giants is found in the West District of Saguaro National Park. Enjoy spending a day amongst the saguaro during this 30 minute program.
To get to the West District from Phoenix, drive south on I-10. You can either exit onto Ina Road or onto Speedway Blvd. Head west and follow signage to park entrance.
Also worthy of visitation is the East Disctict of the park. To reach the East District, drive through Tucson on I-10 and exit at Houghton Road, head north, and then make a right onto Old Spanish Trail. Follow signs to park entrance.
